Abstract
Cabai rawit merupakan tanaman yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia, karena memiliki nilai ekonomi yang sangat tinggi.Cabai rawit varietas ORI 212 adalah pilihan petani untuk dibudidayakan, karena menjadi salah satu cabai yang peminatnya banyak. Cabai yang hasilnya baik juga dimulai dengan perawatan dan budidaya yang baik. Zaman modern menjadikan perkembangan budaya semakin berkembang, salah satunya pada pertanian. Budidaya cabai dengan kualitas tumbuh yang baik dapat dimulai dengan perlakuan pra tanam yang baik seperti persemaian. Persemaian adalah kegiatan memproses benih menjadi tanaman yang siap ditanam. Keberhasilan proses persemaian benih sangat dipengaruhi oleh media semai yang digunakan. Media semai yang bisa digunakan adalah rockwool, arang sekam, cocopeat, peat moss dan lain-lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis media persemaian yang optimal terhadap pertumbuhan benih cabai rawit varietas ORI 212. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dusun Sowan, Desa Bogorejo, Kecamatan Grabagan, Kabupaten Tuban. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dan 5 ulangan dengan perlakuan 5 media semai yang terdiri dari M1 : tanah , M2 : rockwool, M3 : arang sekam, M4 : cocopeat, M5 : peat moss.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan tanaman cabai rawit dengan perlakuan media semai arang sekam menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang optimal selama 5 Minggu dan Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda nyata pada tiap perlakuan media semai.
Cayenne pepper is a plant that is widely cultivated in Indonesia because it has a very high economic value. Cayenne pepper variety ORI 212 is the choice of farmers to cultivate, because it is one of the chili peppers that has a lot of demand.Chili peppers with good results also start with good care and cultivation. Modern times have made cultural development increasingly developing, one of which is agriculture. Cultivation of chili peppers with good growing quality can be started with good pre-planting treatment such as seedbeds. Seedbed is the activity of processing seeds into plants that are ready to be planted. The success of the seed seedling process is greatly influenced by the seedling medium used. Seedling media that can be used are rockwool, husk charcoal, cocopeat, peat moss and others.This research aims to determine the optimal type of seedbed media for the growth of cayenne pepper seeds of the ORI 212 variety. The purpose of research was to determine the optimal type of seedbed medium for the growth of cayenne pepper seeds of the ORI 212 variety. This research was carried out in Sowan Hamlet, Bogorejo Village, Grabagan District, Tuban Regency. This study used a one-factor and 5-replicate Completely Randomize Designs (CRD) with the treatment of 5 seedling media consisting of M1 : soil, M2 : rockwool, M3 : husk charcoal, M4 : cocopeat, M5 : moss peat.The results of research showed the growth of cayenne pepper plants with husk charcoal seedling media treatment produces optimal growth for 5 weeks and the results of research showed significantly different results in each seedling media treatment.
